Meet Dr. Joshua Whetten

Orthodontics has always been in the family. My first job was filing at my dad’s orthodontic office at the age of 13. It was there that my passion began for the “family business”. Orthodontics is different than many other aspects of dentistry, it allows you to become part of people’s life stories. So often I would treat the children of patients at my dad’s office. Having had my own practice, I began to treat my own patients’ children. That is what makes orthodontics fun – the people. I believe that staying up to date on the latest technology is key to practicing orthodontics effectively.

I have been married to my wife for 23 years and together we have four children. Sports have long been a passion in our home and our children have played at all levels from little league to NCAA Division 1. Most recently, I’ve discovered my passion for scuba diving – my deepest dive so far is 138 feet in Belize. Having lived in Las Vegas, Queens, Canada, Switzerland, and Italy I know a lot about what makes a good place to live, and I am excited to be part of the Madison community. I enjoy staying connected through involvement in school oral health programs, coaching youth sports, serving as a Boy Scouts leader and as a youth leader at church. Having lived in Italy for two years I speak Italian and love making fresh pasta dishes, with lasagna being my specialty.
