Meet Dr. Joshua Whetten
Upon completing my education in biological sciences at the University of Utah, I obtained my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Creighton University and completed my general residency at Peninsula Hospital in Queens, New York. I then received my Masters in Orthodontics (MSc) from the University of Alberta. I am also a proud member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) as well as the Midwestern Society of Orthodontists (MSO).
Fun fact: My family roots originate in the Midwest! I was born in Omaha, Nebraska where my father, now a retired orthodontist, was attending dental school. My family then moved to St. Louis for my father’s orthodontic residency and afterwards settled in the state of Nevada. I spent most of my childhood in Las Vegas and returned there after my orthodontic residency to work with my father to help grow our family’s three-location orthodontic footprint in the Las Vegas valley. After practicing for close to 20 years in my childhood hometown, I began to miss the quality and pace of life back in the Midwest. So, I decided to sell my practices in Las Vegas and relocated my family to the Madison area in 2022.
With thousands of smiles transformed, I have experience in treating a wide variety of cases ranging from routine to multidisciplinary and complex with braces and Invisalign® clear aligners. I believe that staying up to date on the latest technology is key to practicing orthodontics effectively and providing the best treatment options for all my patients.
Away from the office, I enjoy staying connected to my community through involvement in youth sports and my church. I also enjoy spending time with my wife Megan and our four children, attending sporting events, and making fresh pasta dishes. European cultures have always fascinated me, and I have been lucky enough to have lived in Italy and Switzerland for two years where I became fluent in Italian. A newly found passion of mine is scuba diving. I have collected several PADI scuba certifications and accomplished many amazing dives include my deepest dive of 138 feet in Belize. I also am a huge sports fan – some of my favorite teams you can find me cheering on include the Vegas Golden Knights, Utah Utes, and St. Louis Cardinals.
